one.c goes to broomhill
september 2007 part of
the Devon Art Works, open studios event
Broomhill Art Hotel, Barnstaple, North Devon
germination consists of the work by four newly graduated artists from Dartington College of
Arts and the University of Plymouth, Dani d’Emilia, James Topple, Kath Wynne (in collaboration with Pete F davies),
and Robson Cezar.
The show will question the roles we play in our society and in our relationships with each other and
therefore with art. Each artist has produced a work that raises issues, that combined gives a powerful oversight to the perspectives
of young artists living in Devon today.

The Inspection and Observation Unit, April 2007
In a measured, controlled scientific approach to recording and historical preservation, the
IOU shall conduct a series of inspections and observations. In this experiment the Unit shall document the village of South
Brent; its communication methods; its recreational zones; arteriole transport routes; consumerist strategies and methodologies;
in order to ascertain the component structures and functions. Once these results have been collated we shall begin the comparative
study to Chateauneuf Du Faou, both settlement areas have been 'Twinned'. The same process of evaluation shall be under taken
in Chateauneuf Du Faou. The final results shall be exhibited in order to reach conclusions regarding the Twinning - will these
two places, both in Rural Locations (Devon and Brittany) share the same molecular formations to warrant such signage and status?
Are they in fact Twins?
The work exists as a limited edition self published title - print run of 5
1 edition was donated
to the South Brent Twinning Association, to be presented to the Chateauneuf du Foau Twinning Association, Summer 2007.

curator: Lara White
My intention was to experiment with the coordination of communication to allow each individual
to be themselves, express themselves and co-create the evening. My aim was to get everybody to actively participate in the
shaping of the "Social Sculpture". We engaged in discussion with a talking circle, we came up with a structure for the evening
and we improvised within it.And so I'd like to Thank Kath for this opportunity, Pete and Eva for their space, Bea, Bongani,
Charlie, Dana, Emilie, Jake, Jerome, Olly, Thomas and Tom for their Time, Faith and Engagement, and Alexis, Marianne, Nathalie,
